Sworn translators and interpreters

Official work for courts, authorities and notary publics

Sworn interpreters and translators are interpreters and translators who have taken a general oath at a district court or higher regional court. While the exact designations may vary from state to state, they all demonstrate that these translators and interpreters have proven their particular professional expertise and personal aptitude for language professionals for courts, official authorities and notaries and in most cases assume a quasi public authority. Therefore, they are obligated to secrecy by law ( § 189 Sec. 4 German Judicial Systems Act) and must faithfully and dutifully transfer the spoken or written text into the respective other language. In so doing, they significantly contribute to the safeguarding of the rights of all persons participating in the trial.

In my capacity as certified and sworn translator for the English language and member of the BDÜ you can rest assured that I translate your texts and documents with the utmost precision and care and take their unique cultural characteristics into account, all while retaining a focus on your requirements and satisfaction, rapid delivery times and the highest possible quality. You are always assured of my discretion and dependability!

All of my work is proofread by a native speaker in accordance with a proven peer review principle. I also recommend performing an additional review once your content has been published online – because errors can also occur during transcription and transmission.

The BDÜ e.V

is the largest German Federal Professional Association of Interpreters and Translators.
The Federal has represented the interests of interpreters and translators for nearly 60 years – both in Germany and abroad. BDÜ represents around 80% of all translators and interpreters who belong to a professional association in Germany and is a point of contact for political institutions, industry, trade and education.
Membership in the BDÜ stands for quality as all members must prove their professionalism and qualification before being admitted to the BDÜ. Since the occupational title of a translator is not protected, a BDÜ membership is considered a seal of quality.
